Sam Rayburn & Toledo Bend Bass Fishing Guide
We offer guided fishing trips on your choice of Lake Sam Rayburn or Toledo Bend. Both lakes are stocked with Florida-strained bass and have each produced largemouth over 15 pounds. Due to the bass fishing exposure on these lakes, the crappie are often overlooked. As a result, clients are often surprised by the size and abundance of their day's catch. Texas offers a generous limit of twenty-five crappie per angler.
Your fishing trip will take place on a fully rigged Ranger bass boat. You will be furnished with all the tackle needed for your trip. The rods and reels provided are the same as those that Shane uses while touring the tournament circuits. Whether this is your first time fishing or you are a "seasoned veteran", Shane will work hard to provide you with a great fishing experience regardless of your skill level. We strongly promote catch and release for bass, but you do have the option to keep your limit. If you do choose to keep bass, we prefer to only keep those fish that are at the lower end of the state minimum size limit (this meaning we keep black bass 14- 15 inches in length and Kentucky bass’ 12 -15 inches). The limits are much more liberal for crappie, and we suggest if you’re wanting to catch fish to eat, then you fish for them. They are considered by most to be some of the best freshwater fish you can eat.
Our guided duck hunts are morning trips only. Morning hunts require you wake early so you can be in the blind ready to shoot 30 minutes before official sunrise, and the hunt usually ends before 11am. If you limit out early and would like to stay a little longer to photograph ducks, this can be arranged.
